1. Project Name:  Conducting a Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magneto- Telluric (CSAMT) Geophysical survey to Explore Groundwater potentials in Bishreyyah Region (Phase II).
  2. Project Owner: Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI).
  3. Project Contractor: Sumer for Geological and Hydrogeological Consultants Company.
  4. Project Consultant: Dorsch International Consultants GmbH.
  5. Location: Within the Basalt Wellfield, the area of interest is located 25 km North-West Azraq town. Located within two geological sheets (Al Hamidiyya-3354III and Al Bishriyya-3354II.
  6. Scope of Work:

A geophysical investigation is required for the exploration of the B2/A7 aquifer within the Basalt Wellfield, the area of interest is located 25 Km North-West Azraq town. The desired depth for the survey is up to 1000m. The study area is located within two geological sheets, namely AL HAMIDIYYA-3354III and AL BISHRIYYA-3354II.

Throughout the work area, fourteen points were chosen to be covered by the geophysical survey, where it is intended to drill groundwater wells in those locations. The client consultant proposes to apply Controlled Source Audio-Frequency Magneto-telluric (CSAMT) methods.

The depth of exploration which can be achieved during surveys may vary significantly, ranging from tens of meters to over 1000 meters. This variability depends on factors such as transmitter loop size, available power from the transmitter, and ambient noise levels.

Importantly, this current scope of work is a direct continuation and extension of the previous geophysical survey conducted in the same region, which covered 21 points. This follow-up effort aims to complement and complete the hydrogeological understanding of the broader area.
